If you haven't heard of Groupon, it's a very useful website to try services in your area. There is only one deal per city daily (51 US cities available today, and London), and each deal usually expires at 11:59pm local time. Their deals are really good on most days, can only be found on their website, and could be a good way to try new stores and services in your area. For example, some cities recently offered 10 90-Minute Yoga Sessions for $24, and 2 months of workouts at a Crossfit Studio for $29. Here's how it works:
  1. Buy the certificate. You are refunded if too few people buy into the deal, but usually they get more than enough buyers each day.
  2. Wait 1 day to receive the certificate by email, and remember to redeem your certificate before its expiration date.
  3. For deals which have a timeframe (ie, you get 1 month of workouts), you probably need to call them to set up your first appointment so they know when to expire your certificate.
Many deals can be redeemed within months or even a year after buying, so you don't have to do the deal right away. For example, if a deal is $25 for an oil change and interior car cleaning, buy it now and use it when your car needs a cleaning (but before the expiration date).
