Wall-mounting a TV and hiding the wires look very clean and cool. To install the wall-mounting plate, you need a stud finder to locate at least 2 studs in the wall, a bubble level, and a power drill. Flat plates (like the one included) will work with large TVs and either wood or metal wall studs. Note that putting a 37" or greater TV on a wall plate with an extendable arm may cause damage to metal studs, which is why a flat plate such as this is safer for mounting a large screen TV in homes with metal studs. Additionally, there may be certain fire-code restrictions when running an electrical cord through the wall, so consulting an electrician is strongly recommended before running wires through the wall. Also if you rent your place rather than own, check with the landlord for permission to drill into the studs.
