Corsair 520HX 520-Watt ATX Power Supply for desktop PCs for $100 with free shipping, and a $20 mail-in rebate is available. Every other store sells it for at least $110. It has some of the best reviews we've ever seen for a power supply priced under $100, and it's rated as one of the quietest.

Note, one of the most common causes of computer hardware failues are electrical issues. Computers need to operate with constant clean power, so a surge protector (or UPS) and a good quality power supply is recommended. If you spent hundreds of dollars on computer components, better be safe than sorry by using a good quality power supply such as this one. When researching power supplies for your next PC, pay more attention to user reviews and less to maximum wattage rating.

Newegg will likely email this Corsair Dominator 2x1GB 1066MHz deal to their thousands of customers early this morning, so it will probably sell out sometime today.

It's a great deal for great quality memory for overclocking. If your motherboard supports overclocking, use its BIOS to increase the memory voltage from its default 1.8V, but do not exceed the memory's maximum 2.1V rating. Then overclocking the system by raising the bus MHz speed should give a boost in performance, but keep an eye on the CPU temperature to be sure it does not get too hot, for example 70 degrees C is dangerous for an Intel Quad Core CPU. Example of an overclocked system with an Intel Q6600 2.4GHz overclocked to 3 GHz with 1066MHz memory on an Abit IP35 Pro motherboard.

Also a Corsair 520HX Power Supply has 3 rails instead of 1, costs $100 and a $10 mail-in rebate is available on it, and also great reviews. A rail is similar to a circuit breaker, where having all your power devices on one circuit breaker will work fine, but can be safer and more stable to split some components onto separate lines. Spreading the power over multiple 12V rails provides greater stability. More information on power supply rails can be read on Wikipedia, under the section "Small Facts to Consider".

If you paid more than $400 for a power hungry graphics card, or are building a computer expected to cost around $1000 or more, best to spend the extra dollars for a multiple-rail power supply to ensure your components have clean electricity. Either way, Buy.com has the best deals on the Corsair power supplies, rated as some of the best on the market. As always, when shopping for a power supply, pay more attention to power supply reviews and little attention to maximum wattage rating.
