Logitech G500 is the new version of the very popular G5 Laser Mouse. It's wired (not wireless), but still highly rated and a very good deal at $50 with free shipping. A $15 mail-in rebate is also available.

Like the G5, this has an adjustable weight cartridge allowing you to make the mouse as heavy as you feel comfortable with. The laser sensor produces more smooth mouse movements than most other mice around this price.

It's meant for desktop computer use, but we recommend it for laptops as well. Make it lightweight for easy travel with the laptop, and we found the G5 was move comfortable than the mini mice designed for laptops.
