- Portable 640GB USB Drive for $70
Seagate Expansion 640GB Portable USB Drive for $70 today.
Powers itself through the single USB data cable.
Other stores sell it for around $110.
Seagate 1.5TB 7200rpm Hard Drive for $75.
Beware, this is the ST31500341AS model, which had an extremely poor history of bad firmware causing loss in data.
If you decide to buy the drive, be prepared to check your serial number against Seagate's website to see if it needs a free firmware update before using.

- network adapter for Seagate FreeAgent portable drives $25
This plugs into a Seagate FreeAgent Go Portable USB Drive, and connects it to an ethernet network.
It lets you access all files with a web-based interface from any computer on your home network.
Decent reviews.

- Seagate 1TB Hard Drive $75, and $30 Visa Card after rebate
Seagate ST31000528AS 1TB Serial-ATA 7200rpm Hard Drive for $70 plus about $5 shipping.
A $30 Visa Prepaid Card is available by mail-in rebate.
The rebate has both an online and mail-in portion; you must complete both then wait 2.5 months to get the rebate.
If you read the fine print of the rebate, you will receive a $30 Visa Prepaid Card, not a check.
Because you must spend the $30 at any store within a certain timeframe, you will be spending $75 with this deal after receiving the "rebate".
If they sent a check instead of a prepaid card, it would be like spending $45 after receiving the rebate, but many rebate providers are now being a little misleading about their rebate offers, making you think you get $30 back, but with a Visa Prepaid Card, you must actually spend the $30 they give you.
The drive has mostly positive reviews.
Also available at CompUSA.com, which is owned by TigerDirect.

- Seagate 1.5TB Hard Drive for $88 (expired)
Seagate ST31500341AS 1.5TB Serial-ATA 7200rpm Hard Drive for $88 today only.
Beware, some versions of this drive caused major reliability problems, as shown in the reviews.
Before attempting to put any data on the drive, follow Seagate's instructions to upgrade the firmware on the drive.
If you do not want to deal with that hassle, save yourself the trouble and pay more for a better drive.
99% of Seagate's drives are great, but this drive definitely falls into the rare 1% of bad ones, which is why it's offered today at such a discount.
Really though, at $0.59 per GB, there are sometimes other drives which match that per-GB price.
Just yesterday Dell had a 2TB drive, granted its 5400rpm spindle speed meant slower performance than a 7200rpm, but it was also priced at $0.55/GB and had great reviews.

- Seagate 640GB Portable USB Drive for $80
Seagate Expansion 640GB USB Portable Drive for $80 ($0.125/GB).
Most other stores sell it for around $110.
They say it's a portable drive because it powers itself through its USB data cable, but at 5.2 x 6.8 x 2.2 inches it is a bit larger than most other portable drives.
In comparison, a Western Digital 1TB USB Portable Drive is 5.0 x 3.1 x 0.6 inches, and has a lower price per GB ($0.105/GB) through today.
Dell.com
- Seagate 1.5TB Hard Drive for $90
Seagate ST31500341AS 1.5TB Serial-ATA 7200rpm Hard Drive for $120 with free shipping, and coupon 2FSP2?Q7$N0JTN gives $30 off in the cart.
Good reviews on Dell.com, but older firmware versions of this drive caused big problems, according to Newegg.com reviewers.
If you receive one of these drives with part number 9JU138-300, 366 and with firmware revision SD17, SD15, or SD18, it can be upgraded to firmware SD1A to fix any problems.
You should check and patch the drive before using it.
