- HD-DVD Player for Xbox 360 for $50
CircuitCity.com has joined BestBuy.com in clearing out their inventory of Microsoft HD-DVD Players for Xbox 360 for $50 with free shipping.
Additinally, 5 HD-DVDs are free after mail-in rebate, if the drive is purchased by tomorrow.
This is a great deal to play current HD-DVD releases in high-definition.
Be aware that movie studios will not release any future HD-DVDs, so you will be stuck with the current selection of HD-DVD movies on the market today or until stores sell out their current inventory.
Lots of HD-DVDs are currently on sale for $10 and up at some stores.
This external HD-DVD drive uses a USB interface, and PCPer.com and AVSForum learned how to use it with a PC running Windows XP, or opened and used as an internal HD-DVD drive with a Mini-ATAPI to IDE adapter.
If you paired this drive with HD-DVD playback software, it would give HD-DVD movie watching through your PC.
Also, be aware that trends indicate Blu-Ray players may drop in price by a lot over the next few months.
Already we've seen a Blu-Ray Reader Drive for PC drop from $156 to $136 in the last week, and a Blu-Ray Reader, DVD Burner Drive for PC is about $159 after shipping fee.
Unfortunately Blu-Ray movies will likely continue to be priced between $15 and $35 each.
